1. @Moon-Mage Thanks for the comment you arranged things for me. In the meantime, I'll be sitting on the following specification in the near future if I can carry or get a deal: - I changed the motherboard to GIGABYTE (because of the Intel network card). - I changed the SSD back to S50 (this is Gen4 and what you suggested is Gen3). Unless I miss something in these changes, the discussion can be closed at this point. Thanks again !
2. Hi forum, my computer is already very old and I am considering buying a new one - is it smart at this time? Or is it better to carry on until 2022 with Intel's next generation, DDR5? Plus, due to the period I am not interested in buying a video card and will just take my GTX770 to the new computer. (One strong acne when prices will work out regardless of budget) Here is a preliminary specification I built: [img] https://img.ksp.co.il/allimg/lrg16015.jpg [/ img] [b] Self-assembly Of AMD stationary computer [/ color] [/ b] AMD processor: [url = https: //ksp.co.il/? I would love for comments regarding the specification. The cooling / power supply / case arbitrary choice and I did not check them enough. Here are answers to the questionnaire: 1. What is the maximum budget? Is there an exception if necessary? 10K does not see the need for an exception and thinks that the story can be closed even at 8,8.5 K. 2. What useful computer (games, graphic editing, office work, HD content, for example), is there a specific example of a game or software? Heavy software development, without the need for a video card. I suffer from CPU / IO-bound together, and often get swapping. (I currently have 4790K 4.5GHz, 32GB, SATA SSD) 3. Is there a need for peripherals in addition to the computer (for example: keyboard, mouse, speakers and screen)? is nothing. 4. Is there a basic component that does not need to be included in the specification? (For example an SSD drive that already exists and can be attached for assembly) without a video card as I mentioned above. Important 2TB fast NVMe drive and besides that I will connect existing drives up to the maximum of SATA connections. 5. How important is silent computer operation? I seek to be based on air cooling and not water cooling. It is important that the package is as quiet as possible for arrangement, filters, etc. (can hold a minimum of 6 drives). 6. Is there a limit or preference for the physical size and weight of the computer, lights, etc.? Without RGB, there is no weight limit. 7. Is there a need to include an OS / Office (preferably a preferred version) and / or a computer in the store? is nothing. 8. Is there a preference to purchase the computer from a specific store? If you can not specify a residential area. No, please direct me to the cheapest place and I will get to it. (Not Eilat) 9. When is the purchase of the computer planned (it is highly recommended to request a short specification from the time of purchase)? Appreciate that I can close the story in the coming month based on your response on the subject. 10. Are there any special requests regarding ports and connections (e.g. USB Type-C or FireWire) or overclocking? No. 11. Is there any peripherals that will be connected? If so, what? (Docking station if laptops / one screen or another) Not relevant. 12. Additional notes, extended details and miscellaneous: - The computer will run Linux as the main operating system. - The network card in the motherboard that will be from Intel. - Minimum 64 GB of memory in 2 sticks with an expansion expected to 128 later. - The use of the computer will be long-term ... Quality hardware that can last 6 and even 12 years ... (Regardless of performance).
3. What did I have to look at to know this? Is it because PCIe4 / 3 in advanced boards and here it is PCIe1? Can I give an example of such a card? Again, the expectation is to buy the drive to use it and in a few months ~ half a year to buy a new system and transfer it to it. I have been using it for a very long time and I am very pleased with it (stable, performance has not deteriorated over time, 50 tera have been written to it already). Is on last FW (EXT0DB6Q) I made the update right when it came out. thanks for the reply!
4. Hi, current specifications: I7 4790K 4.5GHz 32GB RAM GTX770 GIGABYTE Z97X-Gaming 3 Antec P280 Drive array at the moment: Samsung EVO 840 120GB SATA - including Windows and pagefile WD 1TB SSD SATA - including VMs / games etc. 4 additional hard drives. My system is already problematic for my uses (heavy development, VMs, containers, browser) and I find myself in RAM issues all the time. Enlarging the pagefile on the ssd help (obviously this is not ideal). I will buy a new system later, but I prefer to wait as long as possible at the moment - Corona period, new nvidia cards, etc. (It is important to note that the drive will have to switch to the new system as the main one) I am thinking of the following upgrade to the system: - I have the M2 port on the above motherboard, and I am interested in buying a drive that will connect there (minimum 1Tra size) and be the main drive (With dual boot), the VMs on it and the pagefile.- I will buy a PCIE card with SATA ports from ebay and to it I will connect the green hard drives that will have no more space on the motherboard. 1. Will the performance be significantly better What is my old Samsung SSD SATA? 2. Which drive do you recommend, I am not looking for PRO / niche versions, etc. - price versus size and performance when at least 1 tera 3. Is it recommended to mess with these expansion cards from ebay ..? Thanks for the helpers :)
5. none77 Thanks for the comment. So I understand that you shouldn't mess around manually and leave these automatic functions? I will move to MSI. Thank you so much for helping everyone.
6. J Bailey many thanks. Again, you and I are in sync, but you have to understand that my parents use the computer an average of one hour a month on average, the chassis just sits in some room with no heat issues, no more than one open tab or one TASK for that matter. Unfortunately, I can't wait because they are completely without a computer and this will allow them to work from home during this time. Just confirm me if you do \ No: - Can the system be built to a case I already have (I have 2.5 to 3.5 adapters, the USB3 is on edge and this system will not suffer from heat)? - A power supply that I already have will be able to hold the entire system + all drives connected together in the worst case? - Does a power supply pose a real (high chance) risk to the other components when destroyed? (It is clear to me that he is the most basic supplier there is, but my definition of generic is much worse) Thanks again.
7. Thanks so much, excellent looks. I understand what you are saying about Specs 1 and 2 but honestly even Spec 3 is Overkill for their use. Let's try to drop even more than 3. - Download only one 8GB stick. (They have to date with 2GB without complaints). - On SSDs that are as fast and reliable as possible, they will not use this 256 GB net of operating system and there are additional storage drives to connect. I am not interested in IPPON chassis and generic supplier, we are talking about very far range and supplier is the first thing that will probably be destroyed. - Why do you mean that the chassis is irrelevant, does that mean that this system cannot even be assembled to it? If so, then I'll go over the VSK10 from specification 1. - I'm not going to connect the video card, the internal video card can connect to 2 screens from what I see. - I would like to take the 350W power supply I have, use it and then buy a new power supply (you can assume for sure that it will not damage other components at the end yes?) If I take it, will it meet the above system + fans + 4 SATA drives connected? Again, thank you very much.
8. Hello, my parents' computer is destroyed - and they need to build a new one. 1. What is the maximum budget? Is it possible to make an exception if necessary? 1500 NIS Excess up to 500 NIS. 2. What computer is useful (games, graphic editing, office work, HD content, for example), is there a specific example of a game or software? Very minimal use, surfing the internet every now and then, office when needed. However, it is important that he can play HD movies if needed and connect two screens at the same time (computer screen and TV, both 1080p). 3. Are peripherals needed (eg keyboard, mouse, speakers and screen)? No 4. Is there a basic component that need not be included in the specification? (For an already existing SSD drive that can be attached to the assembly) You can take from the computer that destroyed the above equipment - but I have no problem giving them up as well and buying new ones: - Antec Three Hundred chassis. - Relatively new Antec VP350W power supply from unused use Almost at all - Fans - HD5770 video card (probably okay, but I would be happy to have an option anyway if it isn't) - There are drives and SSDs but I would like to buy a new SSD regardless. 5. How important is quiet computer operation? 6. Is there a restriction or preference for the physical size and weight of the computer, lights, etc. Not interesting and no lights or aesthetics are needed 7. Is there a need to include an operating system / office No. Preferred) and / or assemble a computer in the store? No. 8. Is there a preference to purchase the computer from a specific store? If it is also not possible to specify a residential area No. 9. When is the computer buying planned (it is highly desirable to request a specification at a short time from the time of purchase)? 10. Are there any special requests for ports and connections (eg USB Type-C or FireWire)? See Section 2. 11. Is it important to maintain the computer upgrade horizon? No, but it will run until destroyed so I would like the Trinity itself to be relative As high quality as possible. (The previous computer used them for 6 years when it was 6 years old ...) 12. Additional notes, extended detail and variance: None. Thanks so much, appreciate it.
9. thanks for the reply. The last time I bought a computer, talking about VRM was only in extreme overclock circles - so it's a bit new to me for a Stoke processor ... Let's summarize and close the discussion: - If I don't invest in a quality motherboard, even in Stoke I won't significantly exploit the processor (The AMD or Intel at issue). I assume over 20% performance impairment in Full utilization yes? - In the system you have proposed, do you recommend that I perform an overclock? How much can you increase the frequency on average without raising the voltage almost? If there are recommended guides that you know about the processor I would love to send. - Upgrading the storage will result in a marginal improvement in performance and a boost in reliability (what is the point? There is no distant future for this) in the face of another budget deviation. Yes ? - It's not a psychological problem, the job buying me the computer and buying a video card looks "on paper" like a waste of money. Anyway, I understood your arguments and probably clung to AMD. Thanks again.
10. Thanks for the comments. Regarding video card ports, I will make the adapters. Still the 1050TI is the overkill to my requirements ... (You chose it because it is the cheapest video card that supports 3 screens right?) What I currently see is this: - Take intel 9900 and use its internal video card (it has 3 screens). (Maybe even buy K and make him an overclock) - Go for this AMD with a minimal video card. What better way in terms of requirements? Because this 1050 TI tended to throw money just for the option to connect 3 screens (which is critical). Regarding storage, this is a significant total for me - is the Addlink you have offered good or is there an advantage to investing there more and getting more performance? * What do you mean by vrm?
11. 1. What is the maximum budget? Is it possible to make an exception if necessary? We will start from NIS 5000, if necessary can exceed NIS 1000 and if there is a justifiable reason to spend more due to the requirements I am open to hearing why. 2. What is the use of the computer (games, graphic editing, office work, HD content, for example), is there a specific example of a game or software? Heavy software development. Kernel compilations, cross compilations, loads of tabs, loads of documentation, VMs, containers * at the same time *. I ask: as powerful a budget as possible (more cores better, than Clock). 32GB minimum memory. Fast storage (NVMe?) Of 512GB / 1TB and that's in terms of storage. There is no need to invest in a video card at all, * but * there must be an option to connect 3 1080p screens. Better Intel Gigabit card but not binding. 3. Are peripherals needed (eg keyboard, mouse, speakers and screen)? Nothing, just a "box" 4. Is there a basic component that need not be included in the specification? (For example, an SSD drive that already exists and can be attached for assembly) No 5. How important is silent computer operation? not interesting. 6. Is there a limit or preference for the physical size and weight of the computer, lights, etc.? Not interesting and no aesthetics needed. 7. Is it necessary to include an operating system / office (preferably a preferred version) and / or assemble a computer in the store? Nothing - The operating system that fixes this Linux. 8. Is there a preference to purchase the computer from a specific store? If it is also not possible to specify a residential area. no preference. 9. When is the computer purchase planned (it is highly desirable to request a specification at a short time from the time of purchase)? next month. 10. Are there any special requests for ports and connections (such as USB Type-C or FireWire)? See section 2. 11. Is it important to maintain your computer upgrade horizon? Not interesting at all. 12. Additional Notes, Extended Detail and Variance: If there is an easy option to do OC or to apt things I am ready for it. Thanks so much, appreciate it.
