The Achilles heel of such an external drive is the USB connection !!! Shit and unreliable connection !!!!! _ (I once thought USB3 is something quality but nonsense ... other than speed it still depends on 5V and HDD drives are really borderline when connected via USB) Make sure the HDD drive has a SATA connection. Add a few shekels and fix a HOTSWAP drawer, connect it with a SATA cable to the board, mount the drawer under the CD drive (if there are any more) ..... and here you have a reliable connection drive that will never spoil your DATA and will never cause physical malfunctions (SECTORS). HDD 5V ..... It's getting into a sick bed _ it's like wrapping up a blue nylon seal and throwing it into the sea.
