gtx770 on the pci-e 2 slot

Hello everyone,

I want to upgrade my current video card (GTX460) to GTX770, this version:

https://www.tms.co.il/product/12908

When I checked if my motherboard was compatible, I found that I had a PCI-E version 2, while the video card "needed" a version 3.

Will it work at all, making a bottleneck, etc ..?

My specifications: (according to Windows)

Screen: Dell U2412M UltraSharp LED IPS 1920 x 1200

Bottleneck because of PCI-E 2 almost non-existent, certainly when it comes to X16. I generally use PCI-E 1.1 still with my GTX 660. You will see a huge improvement when you upgrade.

Here's a comparison but not really fair, note that in the PCI-E 2 they use the 2600K and the PCI-E 3 uses the newer 3770K, which provides 4-7% more performance according to them.

By the way, why GTX 770 when the HD7970 at the same level now costs 1200 NIS?

I understand the point of sticking to something you know and know is good, but pay 500 NIS more for it?

You're right, but, are:

- Will the noise be the same or lower?

- Is there physics? (This is very important to me)

-Stability in games and drivers

Will be better at 7970?

editing:

If I leave my GTX460 as a secondary card just for physics, and buy the 7970 as a primary card, will there be an option to combine them?

The noise may be louder, not by much though.

From what I understand AMD have greatly improved in the drivers section lately.

No physics, I heard there is a possibility to combine a card For PHYSX with . I do not know much about it, unless someone else here has information about it, you will have to do the research on it yourself.
