Interested in turning an internal drive (WD 18T) into an external backup drive

Recommended Posts

Hello friends, I purchased the above drive (GOLD series) and I am interested in backing it up תמונות And videos (I'm a photographer).

The plan is to back up the material once every two weeks. I was thinking of a docking station but from reading the product data they are supportive

In volumes up to 10T. Now the question is what will happen if I still connect the drive to the docking station .. Will the drive not be detected

Or will the data transfer rate simply be slower?

Do you know another solution to this issue?

Where do you see there is a storage capacity limit?

There is nothing on either the product page in KSP or the manufacturer.

In this case it does not appear, but it is still worth checking in depth.

Here, a similar product -

In general, each such adapter has the figure of maximum capacity.

I do not try or imply anything.

What I know (volume restrictions) I wrote above.

I do not attach "thoughts".

Only things I know, and what I do not know, I say

That I do not know.

I can not get anyone to buy equipment based on

"Thinking" / "seems to me" etc.
