Recommendation for Mesh for a house with 2 floors

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

I am soon moving into a new house with 2 floors, and am debating what solution to implement for good wifi reception throughout the house.

Some rooms in the house have a wired network connection with cables That come to the media closet. Not sure I will connect them all to the router directly or through a switch.

My question is does mesh seem to you a suitable solution, and if so how many units should you install.

I saw a DECO M4 at a good price for two units. Will 2 units be enough?

And another question for beginners:

Is it possible to connect the 2 units to the router, through the network points that are in the rooms, thus connecting directly to the router, or is only one unit connected to the router and the rest connected wirelessly?

Thanks in advance for helpers!

MESH is a slightly expensive solution.

Why not connect upstairs AP / router (where you disable DHCP) and set up a name Network Same as wireless and then check if it's enough?

But then to make sure that the cell phone is connected to a network that is closer to it, you will have to turn the cell phone wifi on and off every time you move between floors.

It's true that mesh is more expensive, but I think it's worth it

And as to whether 2 units will suffice .. it's hard to say without seeing the house .. start with 2 and max buy more if that's not enough

Thanks for the comments.

In the meantime, I purchased two units of DECO M4 that I found on sale this weekend ... (550 for two units).
Today when I am in the 100 sqm apartment the router I bought two years ago from Partner + AP provides me, but on two floors this solution would seem borderline to me ...

What is an algorithm and what power does it have in our lives

Algorithm is a concept which is present in almost all areas of life but still tends to confuse many. This is actually, in the most basic way, a track. At the starting point of the route you place the variable factor, which can be a number or a decision of some kind, and at the end the result comes out. The algorithm is the power behind every computer program you have used, but it is widely used in other areas of life as well.
