Help upgrade a motherboard and processor to an existing gaming system

Recommended Posts

Hi friends,

Unfortunately this past weekend water spilled on my computer, and after a thorough check I did the problem either on the motherboard or in the processor.

I decided that if one of them had already gone this was an "opportunity" to upgrade.

I was thinking of upgrading to intel I9 and motherboard that could in the future also incorporate 3080RTX (or 4080 when it arrives today)

I would appreciate your help in choosing And processor - buy from TMS or plonter

This is the existing system-

Thank you!

Fill out questionnaire.

Did you try to clean the water? In this case it should be cleaned as soon as possible.

Of course I immediately cleaned all the water and then left the computer for the night in the morning I tried to turn on there was a light for a second and then stopped.

I checked with a volt meter the power I saw was working, I took the computer to a friend we disconnected a component and connected to another system and worked except for a processor and motherboard and hence I think these are the damaged components or one of them.

questionnaire:

1. What is the maximum budget? Is there an exception if necessary?

Maximum budget 2000-2500 (preferably less if possible)

2. What useful computer (games, graphic editing, office work, HD content, for example), is there a specific example of a game or software?

Gaming

3. Do you need peripheral equipment (eg keyboard, mouse, speakers And screen)?

No, this is an upgrade to an existing system

4. Is there a basic component that does not need to be included in the specification? (Eg Drive SSD Which already exists and can be added to the assembly)

This is an upgrade to an existing system

5. How important is silent computer operation?

It is important

6. Is there a limit or preference for the physical size and weight of the computer, lights, etc.?

There is an existing case, important to me Allowing for a future upgrade to 3080 And maybe to 4080 (Hoping the bracket will fit there is no knowing)

7. Is there a need to include an OS / Office (preferably a preferred version) and / or a computer in the store?

No

8. Is there a preference to purchase the computer from a specific store? If you can not specify a residential area.

TMS or any reliable store in the Tel Aviv area that can supply the motherboard and processor within a few days

9. When is the computer purchase planned (it is highly desirable to request a specification shortly before buying)?

Tomorrow or the day after tomorrow

10. Are there any special requests regarding ports and connections (eg USB Type-C or FireWire)?

אין

11. Is it important to keep the computer upgrade horizon?

Yes, plans to upgrade to 3080 in the future Or to 4080 RTX

12. Additional notes, detailed and miscellaneous details:

What is the current specification of the computer?

For some reason I can not upload an image, this is the existing specification-

Video card - Palit GTX 1080 Dual OC 8GB DDR5

Power Supply- RM650x 80 + gold modular

Case- Anter p110 silent super mid tower

Cooler Cooler - cooling freezer 7 pro rev 2

Memory - dd4 16g (8x2) 3000 csl15 vegeance

Storage -

1. XPG DDF 480GB sx8200 M.2 2280

2. hdd 2.0 TB 64 mb sata3 barracuda

Replaced CPU and Motherboard -

Intel i7 8700

MSI z370-a pro

As for the new processor, I thought this was an opportunity to upgrade to the i9 but I see it will slightly exceed the budget, no intention to do OC What is the recommended processor in this case and how much should be added to the budget?

Thank you

This is an excellent specification. It is better to try to fix.

Chances are the processor is working properly.

Why not consult the store you bought the computer from?

Max new motherboard at 550 NIS as GIGABYTE Z390 UD

The specifications are absolutely excellent, I have had them for two years and I built with the help of the amazing company here in the forum : )

As for the fact that the processor is probably working properly, yes I am aware of it from the tests I did I think most likely we burned some cockroach on the board or there is some short and really good chance that the processor is working properly.

But I thought if I was already replacing This is an opportunity to replace the CPU as well.

I know that in the coming year I will change screen to screen And as a result I will upgrade to a more serious video card to get a newer processor will not help in this sector? Can upgrading to i9 improve performance?

The computer is used 90% for games and occasionally for Netflix or .

November 5 availability of Reisen 5000 processors.

Until then can you stay without a computer?

Ryzen 5600X

Gigabyte B550 ELITE

The processor is priced a bit expensive at $ 300. There is a rumor that a model without the X will arrive at the beginning of next year for $ 220

I will not last a month without a computer :/

I've heard good things about But I want the computer to come back in the shortest time possible

The Ryzen 5600X is expected to be more powerful than the current generation of intel?

Thanks,

In short according to the article and considering that in the future I expect a system upgrade I think it is smarter to buy Only tomorrow.

Maximum on the day I upgrade the system in the future I will replace a CPU and motherboard.

If even after replacing the motherboard the system does not work, which I9 processor is recommended?

Your processor is excellent and sees no reason to replace the processor and board, especially for gaming in 4K then the processor performance is less critical.

Take the processor to the store from which you bought it, they will test it on a suitable board, if it works, buy a board for a few hundred shekels.

3080 will work great with it, especially in 4K.

Intel 10NM processors released in mid-2021 will support DRR5 : (Probably also Following them)

(Those released in early 2021 will still be 14NM DDR4)

Try to postpone the upgrade to next year because your CPU is excellent, and you will also gain much more performance from the upgrade then.
