Problem with motherboard

Recommended Posts

Hi, need help with That for some reason stopped working, the motherboard is STRIX -F GAMING

The problem started when I did an update to the BIOS (before anyone jumps it is an official update of And not a beta version) after the update the computer did a reset and did not cost more

I will list the problems I notice:

Video does not appear on the screen Only for HD screen, also tested with multiple cables And DP

There are four beeps on the computer

When connected to an HD screen, the computer automatically switches to BIOS and does not proceed, does not detect a drive with an operating system even inside the BIOS (does not know about a screen , no photo)

Memories were tested one by one while uploading the computer, no problem , Video card disassembled and there was an attempt to boot the computer with the built-in connection, did not help.

Specifications in general, R9 3900X, GTX 1080, 32 GIG RAM

The computer has already returned from a reputable lab for testing and exploiting warranty on the part, at the moment I will not name it because nothing was done there with a no no no approach, do not update the BIOS without permission

Did you perform a BIOS reset?

If the computer goes up to BIOS in some mode, then you have the option to install another BIOS version.

I do not think this is something that needs to be explained too much, but a little Google search found the following too long explanation:

https://edgeup.asus.com/2020/guide-update-your-asus-motherboards-bios-for-amd-ryzen-5000-series-processors/

If the board is under warranty the store should exercise a warranty on it or at least perform the above for you if you do not have an additional computer.

Unless there was a power outage in the middle of the burn, it's certainly not your fault and even the power outage issue does not necessarily impose liability on you.

On the day (which will never come) motherboards and processors leave the company without any defects, the company will have the right not to approve you to perform BIOS updates by not releasing them

No no no, do not update the BIOS without permission

The permission was given by From the moment they released the update for download by end customers.

Some of the BIOS updates today are done automatically through the manufacturer software installed on the computer, moreover I have seen BIOS updates installed through the Windows 10 update even though I have only seen it on brand computers .

Accordingly, the name of the store is relevant information.

Did you reset BIOS?

Make sure the video card is securely connected and that all connections from the carrier are connected properly.

According to the link it is related to a video card, because it was not before a reasonable chance that it is the BIOS, if not working you will return to another version as Jacob suggested, you will also see what the lights indication on the board.

Thanks for the comments

@yoavkeAll that is mentioned in the link has already been done without a solution, and as I wrote the update was done from an official version and in full, there were no power outages and at the end of the update the computer booted and did not cost more, would it be better to contact the importer directly and give up the store service? I note once again that this is a very well known and successful network.

@none77A reset was done during the day both in removing the battery and with the jumper, did not change anything

As for the video card, as I noted, no frequency goes out to the screen But yes it goes to the HD screen, connected to the screen The white light (VGA) on the motherboard stays on and there are four beeps, what's weird is that if I turned on the computer with the HD screen and went into BIOS I can move the cable from the HD screen to the 4K screen and there will be a picture on it and it will work until I restart.

You said twice that you could get into the BIOS.

If you can log in to BIOS then you can install an old BIOS version, go back and so on.

If installing an older BIOS version does not resolve the issue, the issue is not necessarily related to BIOS.

The board is under warranty and the store should exercise your warranty

@yoavkeI tried to install older versions including the one that was originally before I did the update and the BIOS seems to be not a file version of BIOS (something of the style) I am currently trying to install older versions via the BIOS update button and not directly through the BIOS

Note that it is listed next to the file you are downloading that the file name needs to be renamed. Download a non-beta version.

(I understand you should only change the name if you useUSB flashback tool).

In a normal installation the file needs to be extracted from the zip, perhaps because the board did not recognize that it is a BIOS file.

First of course you have to make sure that you do everything right.

I recently came across a laptop of With a very old BIOS version that did not agree to receive an up-to-date BIOS version with the same error message that you report when everything is done properly.

The issue was resolved after updating to an intermediate version. (It was said that the computer had version 2.7 and the newest was 3.7, so I installed 3.1 and then also updated to 3.7).

Maybe in order to enable a situation of installing an old BIOS, I need to mark a V somewhere in the BIOS regarding the possibility of installing old versions, I do not remember from Asus - yes, I know from other places.

Some things

A. The built-in connection on the motherboard needs a processor with a built-in video card, for 3900x no.

Have you actually tested the board with another processor?

B. The video card can be connected to another PCI slot at least for testing purposes.

C. The motherboard should not have an effect on the origin of the card, Or HD - might be of interest to you Must do a bot in UEFI mode?

Of course you should check with another video card.

For hard disk, is there no disk recognition at all in the BIOS or just the operating system does not boot?

Is there only one disk in the computer or are there several and if there are several, is there no detection at all of disks on both devices? (SATA and )

When you work with Computers that has a lot of branches, sometimes these are franchisees and even if not the technical level and the service level of the branches is not uniform.

Sometimes more pressure needs to be applied.

If it's a store that has a branch up to 3, it's not really .

post Scriptum. Excuse me for poking around, I wanted to check if your old posts have a reference to the store.

Is there a connection between disclaimer of responsibility for the connection of the usb3.2?

Well, I was more or less able to bring the system to the screen But using an HDMI cable and not using a DP transmitter Better

The system recognized the drives after I changed the CSM to ENABLED and UEFI AND LEGACY OPROM, is this something recommended? I'm not the strongest when it comes to BIOS.

Does anyone know of any setting that will help with the matter of cable and screen?

Update after a few minutes, as Q. @yoavke Suggested, I did a version update for BIOS in stages, I started with an older version and after seeing that the majority works I updated to a later version with which everything currently works (KNOCK ON WOOD)

Anyway, thanks to everyone who helped.

Last question since I'm quite a fan of the attitude I received at the store, is there any point in contacting customer service with a complaint letter about the attitude, do such things usually come up? I am not looking for dismissal or punishment God forbid but alignment when it comes to customer service (and I am talking about one of the largest chains in the country). I do not intend to complain on one of their social networks because I do not want to harm the network or any employee, preferring at the moment to close behind the scenes.

Recommended or not, your operating system is installed this way so you need it to work.

At the top of the news:

In June everything will work out? The MWC 2021 exhibition begins with a Corona-adapted version

Instead of a grandiose mobile celebration in Barcelona - we get a relatively small event in Shanghai this week, and plans for a European comeback this coming June The MWC (Mobile World Congress) was the first notable technological event to suffer last year's coronation, with naive restrictions in the first stage, Complete cancellation of the physical event afterwards - and at the same time promises that next year everything will return to normal, when it is likely that at that point in time no one guessed or predicted that even in 2021 ...
