Recommendation for specifying a gaming computer for a child aged 12

Recommended Posts

Hello friends,

I would be happy for your help with specifications for a non-heavy gaming computer. The use will be for games such as Fortnite, etc.

I saw in the forum of recommended computers the specifications that appear below and it seems to me quite a spin especially that I can upgrade this computer a bit later.

I would love to know if today there are already better alternatives to cost versus benefit.

Thanks in advance

Processor AMD Ryzen 3 3300X 4-Core CPU BOX 650
Motherboard Asus PRIME B450M-A | Gigabyte B450M-DS3H 400
Memories DDR4 16GB 2X8GB 2933Mhz-3200Mhz CL14-16 400
Graphics Card NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1660 Super 6GB 1,200

This specification is not really up to date, in terms of cost benefit there is Better today than the 10400F but the real problem was an insane price increase in the video card segment, the same 1660 super today costs 1800 shekels plus and is really not worth it.

One of the complex specifications that startpc has will be a better and more up-to-date base to start from

What budget did you think of?

Without a video card specifying that the train would not really fit into games and I see no reason to invest in such an expensive processor.

Is a used video card an option?

Like I said before it will be a reasonable base to start from + some improvements (delete the profits the site here does not let me enter a normal link)

Thanks for the link.

I went through the specs it looks great and I have a problem with the video card having a second.

Question Would you make changes to the specs primarily for future upgrades?

The specs I brought did not include a video card but with a graphics processor, the reason is that I am waiting a bit with the purchase of the card and I thought that the child would be able to play Puritan in the meantime, etc.

Value for money with 5600g / 5700g processors is very low. Especially at 5700g.

1600 NIS on a processor only.

You can buy a standard 6-core processor in the price range of 800-1100 NIS and match it with a used 1050ti for 500 NIS and get better performance.

Even 1050-2gb that two weeks ago sold three hand 2 in 300 would give superior performance.

(Where in 3600 / 10400f they are the cheapest and 5600x or 10600kf are more expensive and relevant especially if in the future you invest 2000+ on a video card)

There is also techpowerup data in both unboxed hardware and both anandtech and tomshardware.

ryzen 5600g is No  RYZEN 5600x.

As a processor mated to an external video card its performance exceeds the r5-3600 by 10-15% When of course need a powerful video card to exercise.

The i5-11400 is explicitly superior to it, and the i5-10400 gives similar performance over the standard deviation level.

As long as it's not a top end computer - and this is not really the case - there is no point in getting carried away with the CPU.

6 cores and that's it. It is possible to get by with 3600, it is better to go for 10400f.

Just go over the value specifications in a physical startup, the prices pay off relative to the market situation.

If you take a computer with a gamida power supply, upgrade it to something better.
