Another model that will be available mostly on paper? GeForce RTX 3060 gets official launch date

The family's fifth desktop configuration Ampere Arrive in less than two weeks - with a higher than expected recommended price tag and familiar doubts about practical availability in stores

Company NVIDIA Continues its efforts to enrich its supply of modern video cards for consumers, at more popular prices than ever before - and we continue to wonder if this time we can all enjoy it easily and comfortably, or once again see a limited initial inventory snatched with landing and rapidly rising prices.

The GeForce RTX 3060, the first in the stationary market based on a scaled-down GA106 core that already made its way into laptops late last month, will be available for official purchase starting February 25 - with no reference design of NVIDIA Itself under the Founders Edition branding, but based on marketing partnership designs only.

The launch has been delayed a bit, the price has increased compared to the early prophecies, but hey - we are happy about this further expansion in the availability of video cards during this challenging period

The official website of the GeForce family Than us now That the new model will provide 3,584 CUDA units, with a base frequency of 1.32GHz and a boost frequency of up to 1.78GHz, memory GDDR6 Generous 12GB built-in graphics based on a 192-bit controller (it's not yet clear if the base speed here is 15Gbps or 14Gbps - and maybe that's something the manufacturers themselves will decide), a 170-watt power envelope with a recommendation to use 550 watts or more - and a price tag Recommended $ 330 before tax.

If we put aside the fear that the practical prices in the stores will be tens of percent higher than what is aimed at and recommended inNVIDIA, As has been the case with all previous Ampere models launched so far - the RTX 3060's stated price tag is slightly higher than we originally hoped for, although quite in line with the chip developer's promise of 79 percent performance over theGeForce RTX 3060 Ti launched with a cost of $ 400 at the end of 2020. After all, there is also an “bonus” of an additional 4GB for dynamic memory.

We will soon discover some of the partnership of NVIDIA They will indeed adopt the default price - and some will prefer to focus on premium models at an increased price

The official information does not refer to the release of the RTX 3060 with 6GB of memory GDDR6Although there are still people on the network who are convinced that such a version exists - and we hope that it will, at the very least, carry a recommended price tag of less than $ 300 that can become a product.RTX The cheapest desktop to date.

Early price tags from online stores in Europe paint a somewhat pessimistic picture - although many hardware enthusiasts in Israel will probably also be willing to sign a price of 500 euros including tax (as shown in the example below), considering thatRTX 3060 Ti is offered in Israel at prices equivalent to 800 euros and up

They think there will be some chance that this fresh mid-range model will be offered in Israel for less than NIS 1,500 - or that here too we will see inflated pricing of many hundreds of shekels, as in the case of theRTX 3060 Ti that you can not find in Israel for less than NIS 3,000, even though the target price was supposed to be less than NIS 2,000? Let's talk about it in the comments.
