What's in the box?
Since the two systems come with the same content, we chose not to separate this chapter into two parts. Package Contents:
- Two Speakers
- A mini-PL-2xRCA cable to connect to the sound card
- cable speaker (2 conductors)
- remote control
- Basic user guide
The packaging of the SOLO6, despite being an 2.0 system, will not embarrass any 2.1 system in the market. Also the weight of the package is not negligible at all. The opening of the package reveals a thick polystyrene layer at the top and bottom of the cardboard, wrapped in nylon, with the two speakers. First, we'll mention the size of the speakers: if we compare them to the Creative T20 system Which we have reviewed in the past, It is about a large volume about 4. Also all weight speaker Significantly higher, so the size of the speakers slightly makes it difficult to place them on the computer table. If this table also serves you for other things, things become even more crowded.
The packaging of the SOLO7 is not only impressive, at first glance it is also worrisome. Although this is a packaging with a much less innovative design than that of the SOLO6, it is a very simple packaging for any other system designed for this market. The size of the packaging will not shame many of the 5.1 systems in the market. The weight of the package is equally alarming, raising questions about the ability to place speakers On such a scale on a computer table, or in a standard work environment. Like the SOLO6, here too the speakers rest safely in a nylon envelope between two polystyrene layers. After we took the speakers out of the box and saw their size, we were still skeptical about their suitability to the average person's work environment. The speakers are very high (about 10 inches) and their depth is easily half of a standard table, especially when you consider the fact that they have a rear port, so it is not recommended to attach them completely to the wall. For those who plan to place them on the table, we recommend that you think good, because beyond the great place they will catch, speakers Such a size requires quite a bit of space to sound properly - if placed too close to the listener, the sound will not sound as if it comes from a single source.
The amplifier and the entrances
In both systems, the right speaker (which is the main speaker) is different from the left connector. On the back of the right speaker you can find the power cord (mains), the main power switch, the volume control dial without the remote control, two inputs in the 2xRCA configuration, and the secondary speaker connector. On the left speaker, however, there is only a connection to the cable coming from the main speaker. Also, as you can see on the back of the right speaker, there is also a body Cooling (The amplification for both channels is in the same speaker). On the front is a small control unit that, using 2 digits, displays the current volume on a scale of 0 to 60. On the display you can also see the active entry as soon as you choose to change the login. This unit also contains the eyepiece whose function is to receive the commands of the wireless remote control. As shown in the pictures, the panels and sides of the system are covered with a wood-like cover (not a solid wood, in the inner corners of the panels the sides can be seen as actually MDF coated panels).
