In the last week and a half, a virus called CodeRed has been attacked throughout the network. This virus exploits the many security vulnerabilities that Microsoft's IIS servers have, and it became very popular this week after attacking the White Web site.
Code Red is a worm that takes advantage of an unchecked buffer in the IIS indexing system. Utilizing this issue gives the hacker the maximum level of management on each server.
He also recently attacked Microsoft's Windows Update servers, which apparently the server that is supposed to provide security updates itself has not been updated… Ironically.
