The programmer who helped create the game which is a genre in itself returns with an intriguing solo piece
Do you find yourself in the dark and addictive style of Diablo or Diablo 2? Unfortunately there is no real heir to them on the horizon at this point - but yes there is a new indie game from one of the main original creators, who will try to offer something refreshing and new, but also nostalgic at the same time.
The creator is called David Berwick, and the new project is called It Lurks Below - a Roguelike-style action game that purports to be a kind of combination of resource gathering and building games such as Terraria and Starbound and Diablo And all his dominions.
It Lurks Below is a two-dimensional game with pixelated retro graphics and randomly assembled stages at a time, with changing enemies that require the player to adjust his tactics and a wide variety of weapons and objects with varying numerical data. These characteristics accompany Berwick's writings from the mid-1990s - and he creates it all by himself this time through the personal studio called Graybeard Games, from programming, through graphic design to audio and soundtrack.
A closed beta with several hundred participants for It Lurks Below began this weekend, and Berwick intends to launch its official launch this year as part of the "Steam - When it also promises to continue to work on it, expand and upgrade later even after distribution. Is there enough years of experience and vision behind this project to make it a success story, even though it is extremely modest? Feel free to tell us what you think in the comments.
