Continuation games, innovations, comebacks to old brands and original works - all starred in the biggest gaming show of the year
As every year since 1995, in June it had an exhibition E3, Which is one of the largest gaming exhibitions in the world. Of course we got quite a bit of new information about games that are in development, and dozens of trailers for new games whose developers have been waiting for a conference to announce. So as usual, I'm here to make some order, and summarize for you the information on all the games that I found most interesting in the three days of the show.
So without further ado, because it's going to be long, let's get down to business.
So let's start, as in last year's episodecyberpunk 2077 From CD Projekt Red which has finally received an official release date: April 16, 2020 and will arrive on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The new trailer presented at the show gives us a slightly more personal look at the character we are going to play, a lawbreaker in a futuristic world where people assimilate Technology In their body, and full of different gangs. This is a first-person shooting game in an open world divided into different areas of the city. There was no gameplay in the trailer this time either, which was only experienced by the people who came to visit the conference. But we did get a brief taste of the Microsoft show, when the one and only Keanu Reeves, who now turns out to play a character in the game, took the stage and hit a show. From his words it can be understood that as with the Witcher games plot is a very central part of the game, and our character is given quite a bit of customization not only in terms of design but also in terms of our choices in the game.
And if we're still in business CD Projekt Red, it turns out that the award-winning role-playing game The Witcher 3 Will get a port for a Nintendo Switch! To be honest my feelings are a bit mixed up, because on the one hand playing this great game on the road is wonderful, on the other hand it is a very demanding game graphically and the switch is not very strong, so the resolution is not going to be anything at all, 520p for mobile and 720p when connected .. So it remains to be seen and see how it will look and function in practice.
And now we'll continue to the remake of Final Fantasy 7, Which looks really breathtaking, especially for those who played the original game and have since dreamed of seeing the characters resurrected with slightly better graphics than the Lego blocks allowed by the limited technology of 1997.
At the conference, a gameplay demo of the game was finally given, and this is important because compared to the original, which had a classic system of battles in turns, the remake is actually a role-playing action system, somewhat reminiscent of Final Fantasy 15. Final Fantasy 7 is one of the most iconic role-playing games of all time. Great time to try it out if you've never been able to play it. The game is expected to release on March 3, 2020 for the PlayStation 4 only.
And if you do not mind a plot and you only want pure action, then you can always go toDoom Eternal, That if it's possible, I think it's even more amazing thanDoom From 2016. At the show we got a few more gameplay videos from which it seems that the company at id added quite a few tools Weapon And new possibilities to blow the demons out of hell. So if you enjoyed a sim, you will probably also really enjoy the sequel that is expected to arrive on November 22nd for PC and all consoles. Yes yes, also for the switch.
And do you know what else comes to the switch? The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, A remake of the action-adventure game released by Gameboy in 1993. In Link's Awakening, Link arrives on a remote island after the ship he sailed sank in a storm, and embarks on an island exploration adventure to find a way to escape it. This is a really adorable game that I played for hours as a kid, and it's so much fun to watch it come to life with a cute and colorful design. Also worth mentioning is the collectors version of the game that comes with the coolest metal case I have ever seen in my life, in the form of an old gameboy!
And of course if already linked, then The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, the game that many consider the best game to come out of Switch, gets a sequel game that is currently called Simple Breath of The Wild 2 And will be a direct sequel to the adventure of his predecessor. It currently does not have a launch date, nor does it have a gameplay or anything beyond the one-and-a-half-minute trailer presented at the conference, but I'm sure fans of the series are jumping to the roof from this little information as well.
Even From Software fans, yes yes, those who like to have their games abused, have received good news. It turns out that From Software are working on a new game that is going to be built in collaboration with none other than Game of Thrones writer George Martin! The game is called Elden Ring, And not too much information is known about him yet, because the trailer is very preliminary, but if you've a fan of Souls games, it seems you are not really going to be disappointed, because compared to Sciro it seems to return to the origins of a fantasy world Dark And evil.
But if you're more into the horror part Blair Witch, A game based on the 1999 cult film The Blair Witch Project, will grab your attention. It's a first-person psychological horror game where we step into the shoes of a former police officer who arrives in a dim forest to locate a lost child. From there, well you know what it's like horror games, discovering that the forest is full of supernatural phenomena that he can see through the camera Video, That she and your flashlight are the only friends in this crazy forest.
Another horror game that looks really interesting, even if we haven't seen a gameplay yet Ghostwire: Tokyo, An action-adventure game set in Tokyo. The trailer shows us a very ordinary day in the big city, one where people ride the subway, sit in a restaurant, go shopping at the mall or walk the dog, and then suddenly they disappear, leaving only their clothes behind. Later in the trailer we see that supernatural forces are involved, and it seems that the character we play also has such forces. Intriguing, but we'll have to live and see if it's as good as it looks now.
And still in the field of games that cause discomfort, Carrion Is an original indie game in the Reverse Horror genre. What is meant by Reverse? We're playing the monster! In Carrion specifically this is a monster imprisoned in a research facility and manages to escape from the vessel in which it was held, and now we must help her escape from the facility while biting into the various researchers and workers who inhabit it. Tachles reminds me of the end of Inside if you think about it. Anyway, this is a style game from Troy, so the combination of it all definitely sounds like something to expect.
Another game with an interesting concept, even if we have not yet received a gameplay is Deathloop, A first-person action game from the creators of the excellent game Dishonored. In Deathloop we play two assassins who are stuck in an endless loop where they try to kill each other, but without success, because each time they come back to life and come back again and again for another attempt. That's all known at the moment, but again, this is Dishonored's studio so there's something to look forward to.
Okay so let's move on to something a little more colorful, even if it's still a morbid issue - the afterlife. B-Spiritfarer We play a manager of a ferry in the spirit world, and we must help her help her dead friends cross the mystical days to reach safely the world after. The whole game looks so colorful and full of life, so it's nice to have an optimistic game after the series of games we talked about earlier.
Returning to incessant action with Bleeding Edge, Which he plays Network A four-on-four competitive game that looks like a kind of crazy combination between Overwatch and Borderlands and Devil May Cry. The big difference from Overwatch though is that the characters only fight Melee fighting! There are some classes of characters of course, but it all boils down to seeing the white in the eyes of your enemies. No more digging on some roof and shooting at enemies from a distance, in this game you will have to fight them face to face! Will this be the next hit in the genre? We still have to find out.
And we'll end with two games from the world of The Marvel movies Which are expected to arrive in 2020 under the umbrella of Square Enix.
Marvel's Avengers He plays a game that, as its name implies, follows our favorite group of heroes that includes Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, The Black Widow and Captain America. This is an adventure action game being developed by two great companies: Crystal Dynamics which is in charge of the modern Tomb Raider games, and Eidos Montréal the company behind the Deus Ex games, so it's worth being optimistic about, although superhero games are usually a bit of a gamble.
Another game that probably takes place in the world of The Marvel movies he is Outriders, A co-op shooting game coming from the studio responsible for Gears of War. The Outriders are a race of aliens who served Thanos. Honestly I have no idea if the game is at all on them, but Square Onyx has the rights to Marvel's brand, so that makes sense. In any case, here too we have not seen a gameplay yet, but only that it is a gloomy world with huge monsters that the characters we will play will probably have to fight.
What is the most exciting title presented in the exhibition for you? Let's tell everyone in the comments!
